#BeeWell Festival

#BeeWell Festival 2022

To mark the launch of the #BeeWell survey in schools, the #BeeWell team and 42nd Street created #BeeWell Day 2021, which took place at the iconic Mayfield Depot on 23rd September.

In 2022, #BeeWell are celebrating working with young people and schools for a second year, by launching the even bigger #BeeWell Festival! Schools and youth organisations will join us on the 22nd September 2022.

The Festival celebrates and supports young people’s wellbeing, and we want to send the message across social media that young people’s wellbeing is everybody’s business.

#BeeWell Day 2021

For #BeeWell Day 2021, young people across Greater Manchester have been incredibly creative around what wellbeing means to them.

We saw over 200 young people attend from schools and youth organisations across Greater Manchester. They got involved in mono-printing and banner making, led by 42nd Street, and got moving by trying skateboarding, soft archery, dance sessions and a kayak simulator! We can’t thank Greater Sport Manchester enough for all their help in creating the Get Moving zone. And once everyone was tired from all of that, we invited them to join our wellbeing coping workshop and relax into a Sound Bath, a unique meditative experience created through playing gongs and bowls.

You can have a go at some of these activities and more by clicking here.

Creative Partners

As part of #BeeWell Day 2021, we worked with partner organisations across Greater Manchester, to make creative projects that responded to the question ‘What Makes Me Happy?’.

Reform Radio, Bury Met Youth Theatre and Spectrum Gaming all created incredible online content along with KYSO, who gave a fantastic performance at Mayfield of a song and poem they wrote – a HUGE thank you to all our commissions in 2021. You can see the commissions here and below…

The #BeeWell Bus

We’re so grateful to Transport for Greater Manchester who kindly gave us a decommissioned school bus that visited a few schools around Greater Manchester in the run up to the day in 2021.  Young people were invited to graffiti the bus with pictures and words that expressed what wellbeing means to them. The #BeeWell Bus concluded its journey by parking in Mayfield Depot where more young people added their images and words!
